Staff Accountant, Thomas McTygue brings experience across financial and real estate sectors to his role at the Gildred Companies. As part of the team, he is responsible for financial reporting, records management, and reconciliation. He helps prepare financial forecasts and projections, analyzing performance against budgeted targets.

Before joining the team, Thomas gained experience at Moss, Levy & Hartzheim in Santa Maria, California. While there, he worked on auditing internal controls and financial reporting for various government and non-profit entities, including city governments, school districts, and transit authorities. Additionally, Thomas assisted clients with financial statement preparation and tax filings for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

Driven by his interest in finance and business, Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting, at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. During his time at Cal Poly, he worked on building a comprehensive financial model for a rock-climbing app and helped a local suicide prevention and mental health awareness startup with financial consulting.

If you are courtside at one of San Diego County’s High School basketball games, you might catch Thomas in the mix officiating the game. Among his friends, he is known as the grill master, and he loves to host on the weekends. His other passions include listening to his ever-growing vinyl record collection or tinkering with his 35mm film camera.
